The Courtyard or Stableyard was once the centre of much of the daily activity at Bungaree Station. When all transport and stock work was reliant on horses, many of the horses were kept in the stables and horse stalls there, as well as the harness, carts and drays. The groom also lived there so they were close by to tend to the horses. As the horses have now been put out to pasture, the buildings have been converted into guest accommodation.
The Groom’s Quarters once contained the groom’s bedroom, as well as the harness room. Today the self contained apartment is available as either a 2 bedroom apartment (1 bedroom x 1 Queen bed, 1 bedroom x 2 Singe beds) or a 4 bedroom apartment (with 2 additional adjoining bedrooms – 1 bedroom x 1 Queen and 1 bedroom x 1 Single). It also has an open plan kitchen/living room and bathroom. It is equipped with modern conveniences, including reverse cycle air conditioning, dishwasher, stainless steel stove, television/DVD. A wood fire in the forth bedroom (available only when booked as 4 bedroom apartment) is perfect for quiet nights in. Guests are also welcome to use the gas BBQ outside. All bedding and towels are provided, along with provisions for a full country breakfast (e.g. eggs, bacon, juice, cereal etc). Floorplans of the Groom’s Quarters can be found below.
