With 170 years of history and wide open spaces, Bungaree Station is an educational and recreational experience for people of all ages.
We offer a range of accommodation and camping options for school camps. The Shearers’ Quarters is available for school groups who wish to “camp”, with two large rooms where students can roll out their own “swags” / bedding and mattresses, as well as bathroom facilities. Alternatively, for those who would prefer the comfort of a bed, accommodation is available in self contained heritage buildings scattered around the property.
Full catering is available or alternatively, kitchen and dining facilities can be hired if schools would prefer to self cater.
Activities, such as guided tours of the historic station complex, animal feeding, tree planting, night walks and damper making are available. In cooler months, bonfire can also be arranged, while in warmer months, a swimming pool is available.
With its heritage sandstone buildings, antique machinery and carts, various animals, beautiful scenery and wide open spaces areas, Bungaree Station also provides an environment which allows for a multitude of teacher-led educational experiences and recreational activities.
In addition, activities in the local area could include visiting the historic townships of Burra and Mintaro, hiring bikes and cycling the Riesling Trail, or bushwalking at one of the Parks or Reserves.
