Shearers Quarters “Camping”
Running 100,000 sheep in its heyday, shearing at Bungaree was an annual event that could take up to a month. During shearing, the shearers stayed in the Shearers’ Quarters, located opposite the Woolshed. Today, with modern machinery and fewer sheep, shearing takes only a week and most of the shearers live locally so do not need to stay on site.
The Shearers Quarters has been converted into a conference centre venue but can also be hired by larger groups, such as extended family groups and school camps, who are seeking a more rustic "camping with comfort" experience.
The Shearers Quarters can be booked by groups of up to 25 people at a minimum nightly charge of $880 per night for a minimum 2 night stay, with discounted rates available for longer stays. Guests need to bring their own swags, or bedding and mattress.
